I’m here to tell you about acne. Not just tell you about acne. Teach you about acne. Yeah, that sounds right. So let me re-phrase that first sentence:

“I’m Here To Teach You About Acne!”

I myself used to suffer from fairly severe back acne. My back used to be more or less covered in swollen red blemishes, big whiteheads and clogged pores. I had problems even bending my back some days. When I slept, I tried to sleep on my stomache or on the side so I could fall asleep without too much pain. Of course, that didn’t help much since I couldn’t prevent turning over in my sleep, causing me to wake up with an immense pain and spots of blood and pus on my sheets.

Not funny.

I recovered, however, and I haven’t had any serious outbreaks in 2 years now. I still get the occasional whiteheads and a couple of blemishes now and then, but I’m more or less free from it.

I changed big parts of my diet (no, not because of the acne, rather from changing lifestyle), and when I noticed my acne was getting better, I started using a milder soap on my back, bought a soft brush and a couple of new soft towels that I don’t use for anything but my back. I stopped rubbing the towel when drying my back, and thanks to my girlfriend helping me (it’s damn hard to apply anything to your own back) I was able to use a very mild moisturizing cream. That did it for me. But, and this is a big but, it wasn’t something that happened over night. It took time.

It may or may not work for you. I’m determined, however, to find out more about acne. I find out more and more on what causes acne, how to prevent it, and I try researching as many different methods as possible on fighting acne.

Hence, AcneCareCentral was born. I will document anything and everything I find out about it, and post it here. To your benefit and gain. And my own. I like studying. I like finding stuff out, by reading or trying different things, and I like journaling my finds as well.
I’ve been there. I know what it feels like. I care.
