Acne surgery has become one of the the trendiest treatments in the medical field today. It has been used in treating acne and acne scarring for years, and one of the strengths of acne surgery is the ability to reduce a number of severe skin conditions, including acne and acne scarring.
Some different variations of acne surgery involves laser acne surgery, cryosurgery, excisional surgery and chemical surgery. None of these procedures are totally risk-free, so before jumping on the wagon and getting an appointment, you should closely examine the risks of the surgery and factors that may trigger even more damage. If all does not go well, this type of surgery can very well have a negative effect on you skin condition, negatively influencing the quality of your life. You also need to consider the financial effects of acne surgery. Always consult with a qualified physician….
Cryosurgery, normally used for cancer treatment, is used as an effective acne treatment because of its effectiveness in reducing the appearance of acne. Basically, liquid nitrogen is applied to the skin, allowing elimination of outstanding lesion and encouraging new, healthy skin growth on acne scar affected areas. However, as an effect of the liquid nitrogen used, this type of acne surgery can backfire and cause severe damage to the skin tissue.
Another, more popular form of acne surgery, is Laser Acne Surgery. It is developed to smooth acne scars and reduce redness around the healed acne lesions. This type of acne surgery actually eliminates the damaged layers of skin, which helps new and healthy skin cells to grow which in turn can generate smoother and more even skin than before. The risk with this type of acne surgery is that is has a potential of burning the skin, resulting in an uneven appearance.
Chemical acne surgery, more commonly refered to as chemical peel, removes the outer layers of the skin, thus restoring the skin that has been damaged by acne and scarring. Since there are a large variety of chemicals that can be used for chemical acne surgery, always consult a dermatologist.
The last acne surgery method I will be covering in this article, is the excisional acne surgery. This method is used to extract pus and drain severe acne cysts. You must never attempt to perform this yourself, as it needs to be done by a dermatologist in a sterile environment. Never squeeze and pick an acne cyst. Picking and squeezing acne cysts often leads to infection and will only worsen the condition.
